New Web applications require engaging user-friendly interfaces-and the cooler, the better. With Flex 3, Web developers at any skill level can create high-quality, effective, and interactive Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) quickly and easily. Flex removes the complexity barrier from RIA development by offering sophisticated tools and a straightforward programming language so you can focus on what you want to do instead of how to do it. And now that the major components of Flex are free and open source, the cost barrier is gone, as well!

Cartoon Smart - Photoshop Advanced Brush & Texture Technique

Cartoon Smart - Photoshop Advanced Brush & Texture Technique

Cartoon Smart - Photoshop Advanced Brush & Texture Technique | 658.5 MB
Rls Date : 26/02/09 | Supplier : iNK H0RN

Like most CartoonSmart visitors you probably think of yourself as at least an intermediate Photoshop user, because at a basic level it is a very intuitive program and easy to teach yourself. But a bad habit that many self-taught users fall into is relying too much on Filters when they need to do something visually complex (and that includes yours truly, the author of this course summary) So this course dives right into plenty of advanced techniques you probably haven't ever seen used.

If you've never used Photoshop before, don't let the "advanced" part of the title scare you off. And if you do have some familiarity with Photoshop (even intermediate), that's even better because you'll probably be surprised how many things you've overlooked in the program.
Part 1: Introduction - And a large folder of source files / brushes used throughout the course
Part 2: Brush Techniques - Used in creating a rocky, grass scene
Part 3: More Brush Techniques - Used in a realistic wall/window project
Part 4: Surface Texture and Layer Effects - Used for plaster type effects or overhead landscapes
Part 5: Using the Pen Tool for Paths - To create things like realistic wires or curving text
Part 6: Seamless Tiling - For gaming surfaces or webpage backgrounds
This course is taught by Humberto Abreu, a professional video game texture artist and illustrator.

Foundation XML and E4X for Flash and Flex

Foundation XML and E4X for Flash and Flex
You must register before you can view this text.

Description: XML is the lingua franca of the Web. All designers and developers working in a web environment need a sound understanding of XML and its role in application development. Many software packages and organizations allow for the exchange of data using an XML format. Web services and RSS feeds are now commonplace.

For those working with Flash and Flex, a thorough understanding of XML is particularly important. XML documents are one option for the data provided to SWF applications. Flash and Flex can load, display, and modify XML content. These applications can also send XML content to other applications for updating or for use in different situations.

ActionScript 3.0 introduces some fundamental changes to the way in which Flash and Flex applications work with XML. One significant change is that XML is now a native data type. ActionScript 3.0 also introduces new classes and a different framework for working with external documents. These changes are based on the E4X ECMAScript standard, and they streamline and simplify the process for working with XML in Flash and Flex.

In this book, Sas Jacobs gives you an introduction to XML and E4X. She explores the new XML and XMLList classes and explains E4X expressions, providing examples for both Flash and Flex. In addition to explaining how to incorporate XML documents in SWF applications, Sas Jacobs shows you approaches specific to Flash and Flex and explores real-world usage. The book finishes with two case studies. In the first, you will learn how to consume and display information and images from Flickr using Flash. In the second, you will work with Adobe Kuler in Flex.

Whether you are a designer or developer, this book will help you work with XML and make the transition from ActionScript 2.0 to ActionScript 3.0. It will also provide you with an excellent grounding if you are new to Flash and Flex.
In this book, you'll learn how to:
Work with the new XML and XMLList classes in ActionScript 3.0
Build E4X expressions in ActionScript 3.0 to simplify your work flow
Work with XML content in Flash and Flex to create dynamic web applications
Consume REST and SOAP web services in Flash and Flex
Build real-world Flash and Flex XML applications

DesignProVideo Photoshop CS4 402 Drawing Objects In Photoshop CS4

Cover
DesignProVideo Photoshop CS4 402 Drawing Objects In Photoshop CS4
In this 3-hour tutorial by industry-pro Mark Stope, you'll learn how to create photo-realistic mock-ups of objects using nothing but a Wacom Tablet and Photoshop CS4.

Drawing objects in Photoshop CS4 is similar to drawing objects with a pen and pencil. First you sketch out the object as a rough line drawing, and then block it into place and wrap it with a final texture to provide realism. While it sounds easy, there's a few tricks to doing this on the computer that can make your artistic life a lot easier ... and this tutorial shows you the way.

Along the way, you'll learn how to mock-up a CD case, a security camera, a detailed rocket ship, and an old-school cannon. You'll start by seeing how easy it is to use a Wacom tablet to sketch-out line drawings of the objects you want to produce. Next, you'll see valuable skills for blocking out any real-life object using simple primitive shapes in Photoshop CS4. Finally, you'll be taken through the fine art of finding and wrapping your objects with textures (either "liberated" from the Internet or created by hand) to provide stunning realism for the objects you make in Photoshop.

make your photos shine. This tutorial-video shows you why ...
Rar: 462 Mb(.Bin/Cue) MB

This tutorial is available!

Digital Cameras have made it easier than ever to take great pictures. But even with the best camera,
it takes a bit of work with Photoshop to really get the most out of your images. Small issues like
lens flares or dust spots can quickly ruin a photographic moment, and it's often necessary to remove
the "digital haze" that comes with photos that are too light or dark to perfectly reflect the scene
you captured.
In this 3-hour tutorial by seasoned photographer, educator and Adobe author Dan Moughamian, you'll
learn how to take your favorite photos and make them even better. You'll learn important skills like
working with Adobe Camera Raw to improve tonality and contrast, and using Adjustment Layers to
fine-tune the color and mood of your images. The most important photography workflow topics are
covered, to ensure you get the best image, every time. There's also detailed coverage of
photo-retouching skills like noise reduction, removing lens spots, blemish repair, and perspective
correction.
This is a comprehensive tutorial, but you don't need to watch it all. Use the search functions and
detailed menus to quickly find important topics - that's the essence of Nonlinear Educating using
N.E.D.!

Distributable Player Solution

Distributable Player Solution

The distributable player solution enables developers to create rich applications for the latest version of Adobe® Flash Lite™ and directly distribute their content to millions of open OS smartphones, providing a better on-device user experience.

Since the distributable player solution mimics the successful Adobe Flash® Player desktop model of content-triggered downloads, you can be confident that your users’ devices will always have the latest Flash Lite runtime.

Plus, the distribution model enables you to deliver free or paid applications to millions of open OS smartphones, through direct-to-consumer distribution or your existing distribution channels, or via Adobe’s aggregator partners, which include GetJar, Thumbplay, and Zed.

Finally, this solution gives end users a better experience by providing intuitive discovery and installation of Flash Lite applications. Consumers using supported Windows Mobile and S60 phones in India, Italy, Spain, UK, and the U.S. can easily download applications. (Additional countries will be added over time.) After downloading an application, consumers see its user-friendly icon in the device menu.

Download the distributable player solution now

How it works

Take advantage of the distributable player solution in these basic steps.

Distributable Player Solution Workflow

1. Create

Create and test your Flash Lite application using Adobe Flash CS4 Professional and Adobe Device Central CS4 (with corresponding updates below), or Adobe Flash CS3 Professional and Adobe Device Central CS3.

2. Package

Use the Adobe Mobile Packager to wrap your SWF file with an icon, metadata, and a version checker that downloads the latest Flash Lite player over the air.

3. Distribute

Reach millions of users with direct-to-consumer distribution, or leverage the marketing reach and billing services of off-deck aggregator partners, including GetJar, Thumbplay, and Zed.

4. Discover

After downloading, your end users can discover your Flash application through a visual icon just like other applications on the device.

Portable Photoshop CS4 [Highly Compressed]

One of the most obvious changes in the new CS4 applications is the user interface, and this change will also be carried over into the nextversion of Adobe’s Photoshop. This decision is described in detail by Adobe’s John Nack.

Nack describes how Adobe has been trying to make the interfaces on their apps more consistent and shows off a screenshot of the new Mac Photoshop “application frame”. This application frame contains both user interface elements as well as documents themselves. Despite expressing his own initial resistance, Nack explains the advantages to the consolidated window: - It facilitates N-up (2-up, 3-up, etc.) document layouts that adapt as you adjust the interface. Think “live window tiling”–great for comparing, compositing, etc. - It makes it easier to move the entire application and its contents, including from one monitor to another. - It prevents documents from getting obscured by panels (palettes). - It blocks out the contents of the desktop, minimizing visual clutter.

Mark Christiansen builds upon his incredibly successful AFX220 class, by leading a team effort focusing on design-related issues in After Effects.

Using the new After Effects CS3, we cover a wide range of topics, including design principles, interoperability with Photoshop and Illustrator, animation tricks, keying, and new features in CS3. Most of the course will be not specific to CS3 so you'll be fine using older versions, but we'll highlight changes in the app and cover some of the cool new features.

Christiansen's resume includes work at the special effects studio The Orphanage includes The Day After Tomorrow and films by Robert Rodriguez, and he has also created graphics for documentaries produced by HBO and The History Channel. Adobe's After Effects development team named Mark its number-one beta tester and hired him to create tutorials and other materials for the 6.0 release. His book, After Effects Studio Techniques, is a recommended textbook for the course.
